From FRANCE
I recently spent two and a half years living in the Languedoc region of France - a beautiful area with a wide range of landscapes; the remote mountainous areas with craggy rock faces and thick vegetation, the rolling foothills with small circulade villages sitting on the hilltops and overlooking the plains with vineyards as far
On the coast, there were other treasures; bustling fishing ports with coloured boats and canals amongst rows of buildings showing off their wrought iron balconies, and areas of lagoons and flatlands filled with flamingoes and birdlife. It was a wonderful time living there amongst the chiming of bells and the daily aroma of baking bread and croissants and looking back I feel as though I only managed to touch the surface of what was on offer.
We’ve also had numerous trips to other parts of France, back to the Lot, and Provence and of course, I mustn’t forget la belle Paris. Our trips between France and Greece have not only taken us all around the amazing countryside of Greece but on ever expanding jaunts across and up and down Italy.

And now, there’s more.......
To GREECE
So now here we are living in Greece. We’ve moved to Koroni at the bottom of the Messinia Peninsula of the Peloponnese. Its a beautiful old town spilling down the hillside towards the harbour, complete with whitewashed buildings and narrow stepped laneways and the requisite crumbling Venetian fort up on the hill.
I will be continuing my French and Italian 'inspired' paintings, but I also hope to introduce some totally different landscapes to my portfolio – particularly with the unbelievable blue of the Greek seascapes. This coupled with the soft greens of the olive groves, and the harshness of the mountains will provide plenty of challenges I’m sure, plus I’ll be introducing some more abstract works based on the colours and rhythms of the sea.
Of course, all this will have to be fitted in with the requisite swimming, snorkelling and frappes!
I will be back in Sydney this year (2011) from October to December, armed with more new works for another exhibition. Stayed tuned, and in the meantime, keep in touch with what’s happening by checking out the website and my blogsites.
